In 2018 Russia imported 7.137 million tons of ferrous metals, up by 4.9% YoY.
In December 2018 imports grew by 3.9% MoM, to 0.487 million tons.
According to the Federal Customs Service, the import of ferrous metals not counting pig iron, ferroalloys, waste and scrap, was 5.666 million tons, down by 0.4%. In December 2018 imports increased by 4.3% MoM, to 0.383 million tons.
Imports of steel pipes dropped by 22.1% YoY, to 0.564 million tons, with 0.061 million tons imported in December 2018, up by 4% MoM.
The share of metals and metal wares in 2018 imports was 7.2%, up from 6.9% in 2017.
The share of the far foreign countries grew from 5.7% to 5.9%, and of CIS countries from 16.9% to 17.3%. (Ukrainian metal)
