According to preliminary results, in July the USA imported 3.15 million tons of steel, down by 11.5% MoM, but up by 6.3% YoY.

The main decrease was on behalf of semi-finished products – down by 300 thousand tons MoM. Brazilian companies decreased supplies, while Russian increased slab deliveries.

All in all in July Russia supplied 307.9 thousand tons of steel to the USA, with 230 thousand tons of semis, 45.1 thousand tons of cold-rolled metal and 17.7 thousand tons of oil-and-gas pipes. Only Canada supplied more steel in July.

In January-July Russia exported 2.06 million tons of steel to US, including 1.53 million tons of slabs and 260 thousand tons of cold-rolled metal. This is the fifth result after Canada, Brazil, Korea and Mexico. (Ukrainian metal)
