Tominskoye Mining and Processing Works has started preparing the territory for the construction of the new enterprise.
“The first stage of the factory construction will end in late 2019. By that time all the manufacturing units of the processing factory will have been constructed,” the GOK CEO Valery Ulanovsky said.
The mining and processing works will be constructed in Chelyabinsk region on the territory of Tominskoye deposits of copper-porphyry ores. The reserves of the deposits are estimated at 660 million tons of ore. This is one of the 50 largest copper deposits in the world.
The first ore will be mined in 2018. Before the processing factory is put into operation the ore mined will be stored in a warehouse.
The factory is projected to reach its full capacity of 28 million tons of ore per year in early 2022.
As of July investments into the project total 65 billion rubles. (Ukrainian metal)
