The president of Ukraine Petr Poroshenko has signed the decree No. 6382 to prolong for a year the export duty on ferrous scrap in the amount of 30 euro per ton, earlier adopted by the Verkhovnaya Rada.

According to the VR committee on industrial policy chairman Victor Galasyuk, thus an additional margin of safety was created for Ukrainian metallurgy.

“Now the plants will have raw materials, the army – weapons, and Ukrainians – jobs and salary! This is an important step. But we will not stop here. We have to carry out the whole portfolio of reforms”, he said.

Earlier the Federation of Ukrainian metallurgists and Ukrmetallurgprom supported the prolongation of the duty. (Ukrainian metal)
