Interpipe intends to take part in the second auction of large scrap batches sales by Ukrzaliznytsia. But it does not have the task to win at any cost, the company CFO Denis Morozov said.
“We plan to apply for participation, but we don’t have the goal to win. Our goal is for the Ukrainian scrap market to be balanced. It is also important for the raw materials not to be exported”, he added.
Interpipe is not afraid of the competitors.
“There will be enough scrap for everyone, as these are just the first auctions. No matter who wins – we, AMKR, Metinvest, DMK or DSS. What is important is that any company can participate and that Ukrzaliznytsia has finally started auctioning scrap”, he said.
Interpipe did not participate in the first sales because of the vague and unclear rules of the auction. (Ukrainian metal)
