Kaz Minerals Group reports the production of the first copper concentrate of sulfide ore at its Aktogay Mining and Processing Works according to the schedule to start the manufacture in Q1.

The Aktogay processing factory begins increasing capacity to reach the project manufacturing target in H2.

The group intends to produce around 300 thousand tons of copper per year in 2018.

Aktogay produced its first cathode copper of oxide-bearing ore on December 1, 2015.

On December 6, 2016 the group started testing and putting into operation its sulfide ore processing factory.

The annual processing is estimated at 25 million tons of ore. Output in the first 10 years will reach 90 thousand tons of copper cathode per year from the sulfide ore site and 15 thousand tons from oxide-bearing ore site. The total budget of the Aktogay project is $2.1 billion. (Ukrainian metal)
