The aviation industry demand for titanium will increase with the expansion of the usage of composite materials.

Composites are widely used in the construction of the new generation aircraft, but corrode aluminum, the main metal in plane construction. But titanium is not affected by corrosion and combines well with composites.

The first Boeing and Airbus planes used only 2% of titanium, but now its share has grown to 15%. So the demand for the metal will increase.

Since 2010 VSMPO-Avisma has been covering some 30% of the world demand in titanium for aircraft and spacecraft construction, while satisfying the local demand by 100%. (Ukrainian metal)
