Uralskaya Stal, a part of Metalloinvest, has started producing slag pots.
The first trial pot for the pig iron manufacture of the company was produced in July 2016. The pot is still operating, even after 500 pourings.
Metalloinvest buys 30 slag pots for its enterprises each year.
Following the pot for the blast furnace shop, another was produced – this time for the arc-furnace shop. While the volume of the blast furnace slag pot is 16.5 cubic meters, that of the arc-furnace pot is 16 cubic meters.
Uralskaya Stal intends to supply slag pots for Oskol Electrometallurgical Works (OEMK) on regular basis, and probably sell it to other companies, not belonging to Metalloinvest. (Ukrainian metal)
