In 2016 the Kamchatka Krai registered an increase in precious metals mining.
“The precious metals mining is one of the most prosperous mining activities in the region. The active development of the industry allowed us to mine 373 kg of platinum, 6.329 tons of gold and 11.794 tons of silver in 2016”, the regional natural resources and ecology minister Vasily Priydun said.
The region boasts 64 deposits of gold. (Ukrainian metal)
