In 2016 Ukraine produced 1.028 million tons of ferroalloys, up by 16% YoY.
According to the Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers, silicomanganese output went up by 16.7% YoY, to 814.97 thousand tons, ferromanganese – by 19%, to 104.47 thousand tons, and ferrosilicon – 101.42 thousand tons, to 12.5%.
At the same time production of metallic manganese decreased by 26.2% YoY, to 7.42 thousand tons.
Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant is still idle. The works stopped operating in July 2014 when the Russia-supported military activity started in Eastern Ukraine.
In 2015 Ukraine produced 886.4 thousand tons of ferroalloys, down by 18.5% YoY. In particular, silicomanganese output dropped by 16.9% YoY, to 698.4 thousand tons, ferromanganese – by 14.8%, to 87.7 thousand tons, ferrosilicon – by 36.6%, to 90.2 thousand tons. At the same time in December 2014 Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant resumed production of metallic manganese and produced 10.1 thousand tons in 2015. (Ukrainian metal)
