Zaporozhye and Nikopol Ferroalloy Plants, both part of the Privat Group, have suspended operation.
The furnaces have been shut down for winter due to the problem with the constant supply of electricity and water.
While in shutdown, the plants will focus on repairs.
Breaks in electricity and water supply affect technical conditions of furnaces. Moreover, each launch of furnaces is accompanied by considerable capital expenses and manufacture of substandard ferroalloys.
Orders of local customers in winter will be covered by already produced ferroalloys. (Ukrainian metal)
