Zaporizhstal has reported shortages of limestone due to the problems with railroad transportation in Donetsk region.
“The unsolved problems with railroad transportation from the uncontrolled territories of Donetsk region affect Zaporizhstal. We have been using only Ukraine-produced limestone. But now due to difficulties with delivery of this raw material from our major supplier – Komsomolskoye Mine Group – we have to import limestone”, said the company CEO Rostislav Shurma.
According to him, in August the share of imported limestone will reach 30%, with the monthly consumption of 100 thousand tons of limestone.
Because of these railroad problems Zaporizhstal has started losing competitiveness, and Ukrainian suppliers to the company have been forced to decrease output.
In 2015 Zaporizhstal received 1.6 billion UAH of net profits, up by 61% YoY, or by 684.3 million UAH, having increased its net income by 41.99% YoY, or by 9.28 billion UAH to 31.39 billion UAH. (Ukrainian metal)
