Energomashspetsstal has cast and forged the hemispheric ingot weighing 125 tons for the manufacture of the high-pressure steam-generator shell for Kudankulam nuclear power station in India.
“Taking into account technical characteristics, this ingot is the only one on the ex-USSR territory. The shell is also the first product of such weight to be produced from the hemispheric ingot by EMSS”, said the company in its statement.
EMSS used lesser hemispheric ingots to produce pipes for nuclear power stations. (Ukrainian metal)
