Beginning with October Interpipe raised salary for its employees by 10%. This is the second salary increase this year. The first was in April. In total wages increased by 20%.

From the beginning of the year miners of DTEK Mine Group named after Space Heroes have been showing high coal output.

In January-October Ukraine produced 55.41 million tons of iron ore concentrate, down by 3% YoY.

In autumn Novokramatorks Machine-Building Works put a new arc electric welding steel furnace with capacity of 15 tons (DSP-15) into operation. This marked the end of the steel shop overhaul started in 1997.
