In autumn Novokramatorks Machine-Building Works put a new arc electric welding steel furnace with capacity of 15 tons (DSP-15) into operation. This marked the end of the steel shop overhaul started in 1997.
The new furnace will replace two old DSP-12 furnaces. This is the second electric furnace, constructed at the works. The first one (DSP-50) was put into operation in 2008 and allowed the company to stop using open-hearth method.
The works pays for all such constructions from its own pockets. In particular it has invested all of its 2014 net profit (353.6 million UAH, 1.5 times more YoY) into the new furnace.
Metal machinery constitutes 29.3% of NKMZ products, with 21.9% being lifting equipment, and 17.3% – mining.
In 2014 the company increased output by 1.7%, to 2.7 billion UAH. This year the rise is expected on the level of 63%, to 4.4 billion UAH. (Ukrainian metal)
