Zaporizhstal has entered the final stage of its sintering shop reconstruction project – the works has stopped its sintering machine #3 to connect the main gas-purifying equipment.
After that sintering machines ##4-6 halt and gas-purifying equipment connection will follow. In the end all 6 sintering machines will be equipped with the up-to-date gas-purifying equipment that would decrease pollution by 45%. Total investments into the ecological modernization of the sintering shop would reach 845 million UAH.
To connect and develop the operation of each gas-purifier requires 2 months and the complete halt of the sintering machine being connected to.
Zaporizhstal started constructing and assembling gas-purifiers at its sintering machines in the middle of 2015. So far around 90% of metal constructions of #3 and #4 gas-purifiers have been assembled.
Sintering machine #1 with gas-purifying equipment was put into operation after a major overhaul in 2013, with #2 following in 2014. (Ukrainian metal)
