Interpipe is working at 30-40% of its steel pipes capacities.
“In wheels manufacture it’s 45-50%. But in pipes, our capacities are at 30-40%”, said the company economy and finances director Denis Morozov. According to him, such a considerable fall was the result of the loss of the Russian and other Customs Union markets, which accounted for 40% of the sales.
As to Interpipe not buying productive capacities abroad, Morozov said, that the prime cost of pipes in Ukraine was one of the most competitive in the world.
“So it was pointless to buy assets in other countries, as it wouldn’t give any advantage on the market”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
