Ukraine: steel output up in March 2016

In May Ukraine will produce 2.2 million tons of steel, 2.1 million tons of pig iron and 1.9 million tons of rolled metal, according to Metallurgprom. For April its figures were as follows: steel – 2.1 million tons, pig iron – 2 million tons, rolled metal – 1.8 million tons.
In March Ukrainian metal makers produced 2.2 million tons of steel, up by 30% YoY and 12% MoM. That is the highest result since July 2014 when the escalation of the military activity in Donbass dropped steel output by 28% MoM.
In the first quarter of 2016 Ukraine produced 6.11 million tons of carbon steel, up by 18.6% YoY.
In February Ukraine produced 1971 thousand tons of steel, up by 1.7% MoM, or by 33 thousand tons.
In 2016 Ukrainian metal companies will produce 26.5 million tons of steel, up from 23.2 million tons in 2015.
In January-February Donetsk region (without the Anti-terrorist operation zone) increased output by 10.1% YoY.
In April Ukraine will produce 2.1 million tons of steel, 2 million tons of pig iron and 1.8 million tons of rolled metal, says Metallurgprom.
