In March Ukraine produced 1696 thousand tons of steel, up by 6.8%, or by 108 thousand tons, MoM.
In the first quarter of 2015 Ukrainian companies produced 5.15 million tons of carbon steel, down by 31.4% YoY.
In February Ukraine produced 1588 thousand tons of steel, down by 15.3%, or by 286 thousand tons, MoM.
According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association (World Steel), the crude steel production by Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) declined by 6.0% during the month of February YoY.
Experts expect steel output in April on the level of 1.6 million tons, with 1.5 million tons both of pig iron and rolled metal.
Steel production in Ukraine, hit by a separatist conflict in the East, fell by 29%, to 3.46 million tons in the first two months of 2015 compared with the same period last year.
