In January-June Ukraine produced 11.25 million tons of carbon steel, down by 27.2%, YoY.
Pig iron manufacture decreased by 29.1%, to 10.19 million tons, that of rolled metal – by 28%, to 9.79 million tons. Metallurgical coke output fell by 38.5%, to 5.24 million tons, while that of steel pipes – by 44.9%, to 427 thousand tons, all YoY.
In June steel smelting decreased for the first time since winter, but it’s still above 2 million tons. At the same time average daily steel output slowly grows: 62.2 thousand tons in 6 months, and 66.8 thousand tons in June.
In 2014 Ukraine produced 23.79 million tons of rolled metal, 27.16 million tons of steel and 24.81 million tons of pig iron, all down by 17.7%, 16.9% and 14.8% YoY respectively. (Ukrainian Metal)
