Ukraine: metal companies decrease gas consumption in January-August 2021

In January-August, Ukrainian metal companies decreased natural gas consumption by 6.1% YoY, to 1.31 billion cubic meters. Electricity consumption grew by 4.4%, to 7.67 billion kW-h. Last year, gas consumption went up by 4.4%, to 1.88 billion cubic meters, while electricity consumption dropped by 0.6%, to 11.1 billion kW-h. (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: metal exports revenue share up in H1 2021

The contribution of the mining and metal complex to the currency income from exports in January-June grew from 25.3% to 33%. According to the State Statistics Service, export revenue totaled $10 billion. In H1, ferrous metals export revenue grew by 57.5%, to $6.14 billion, and iron ore – 2.1-fold, to $3.91 billion.
