Scientists of the National Research Technological University MISiS together with their Canadian colleagues have created a unique titanium – niobium – zirconium alloy – its resilience is identical to that of the human bones.

This innovation will allow creating more efficient and practical medical implants.

Researchers believe the new alloy will replace the currently used titanium, which is not flexible enough, thus in time the implant needs to be replaced.

The scientists have also been able to produce this alloy as powder. (Ukrainian metal)
