By canceling the frozen auctions to sell scrap, Ukrzaliznytsia has damaged itself for 300 million UAH, expert Boris Kushniruk has said.
“That was a very strange decision on behalf of Ukrzaliznytsia. Auctions were held, winners were announces and pledges were made. Moreover, metal companies were ready to buy this scrap despite the fact that the difference in prices of these auctions and current prices was 600 to 1600 UAH per ton. But the Ukrzaliznytsia management cancelled the auctions, resulting in the budget of the country at war not receiving around 300 million UAH,” he said.
The state enterprise’s warehouses are stocked with scrap, yet the sales are suspended and it doesn’t get income. (Ukrainian metal)
