In 2023, Ukrainian metal plants produced 5.37 million tons of rolled metal, up by 0.4% YoY, of which around 2.99 million tons were exported, or 55.6%.
In 2022, the share of exports was 81.7% – 4.37 million tons exported of 5.35 million tons produced.
The share of semi-finished steel products in exports amounted to 40.3%, down from 43.45% in 2022, the share of flat rolled metal was 40.41%, up from 36.34%, and bars – 19.53% against 20.21%.
The volume of domestic market totaled 3.505 million tons, of which 1.118 million tons, or 31.91%, were imported. In 2022, the volume was 1.598 million tons, with 621.6 thousand tons, or 38.88%, imported. Thus, last year the volume of the domestic market increased by 119.29%, while the share of imports dropped by 6.98%. (Ukrainian metal)
