Kyrgyzstan should have a unified policy in the field of coalmining, the President of the Board of the Association of Miners and Geologists of the Kyrgyz Republic Duishenbek Kamchybekov has said.

According to him, more than 400 licenses are in the hands of coalmining enterprises to date in the country. More than half of them are engaged in the development of coal deposits. Last year, the country produced 3.8 million tons of solid fuel.

“This is a good indicator. At such a rate, Kyrgyzstan could not only fully provide itself with coal, but also export it. But there are problems. An appropriate decision has not been made in the organization of work and management of the industry. For example, Kyrgyzkomur state enterprise is developing only one section of Kara-Keche field. The rest were given to private companies. There is the task to connect them all with the enterprise. There should be a single body that will meet all the requirements, engage in coalmining and regulate the process,” Duishenbek Kamchybekov said. (24.kg/Ukrainian metal)
