In January-June, Kazakhstan extracted 57.4 million tons of coal, up by 5.9% YoY, valued at 271 billion tenge.

Pavlodar region yielded 33.9 million tons, up by 4.9%, and Karaganda region – 18.4 million tons, up by 2.3%.

Exports amounted to 13.7 million tons valued at $344.2 million, up by 21.1% and by 91.5% respectively.

Most coal was shipped to the CIS countries (9.1 million tons, up by 0.7%), with Russia importing 8.4 million tons, up by 15.3%.

Non-CIS countries bought 4.6 million tons, up 2-fold, with Switzerland buying 3.3 million tons, up by 75%. (Ukrainian metal)
