In 2020, Ukraine exported 18.514 million tons of ferrous metal products valued at $7.69 billion, down by 0.7% and by 11.9% YoY respectively.

Scrap exports dropped by 15%, to 35.9 thousand tons, while pig iron grew by 20.3%, to 3,104.8 thousand tons, and semi-finished products – by 6.3%, to 7,489.5 thousand tons.

Semi-finished products accounted for 40.5% of exports, raw materials – for 20.3% and rolled metal – for 39.2%.

The customers were EU-28 (31%), Africa (13%), Europe (14.5%), CIS (6.5%), Near East (12%), etc.

Iron ore raw materials exports reached 46.2 million tons, up by 16%.

Imports of ferrous metals decreased by 15.1%, to 1280 thousand tons, with scrap down by 47.1%, to 26.4 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
