In January-June, Ukraine increased revenue from the exports of ferrous metals by 3.6% YoY, to $1.46 billion.
According to the State Customs Service, ferrous metals accounted for 7.5% of all export revenue, up from 7.3% in H2 2023.
In June, revenue decreased by 4.9% MoM.
Ferrous metals exports dynamics has been falling since the start of the year. Thus, in January revenue grew by 65%, in January-February – by 46.3%, in January-April – by 16.6% and in January-June by 3.6%.
Metal exports decrease due to a number of challenges, in particular, worsening of situation in the energy system and the introduction of a norm of importing at least 80% of electricity, lack of personnel due to mobilization and inefficient reservation, logistics problems and unfavorable global steel market situation.
