Interpipe had been forced to initiate an antidumping investigation of the imports of seamless hot-deformed steel pipes from China, as they grew 2-fold in 2018 and their share in overall imports increased to 50-55%.
“We have felt the threat of the Chinese imports. In 2018 Chinese imports grew 2-fold, to 35 thousand tons, while in 2016-2017 they totaled 15-16 thousand tons”, the company reported.
Still, in case the Chinese imports are limited, Ukraine will not feel shortage.
“We produce all pipes on which we have initiated the investigation, and are prepared to satisfy the demand on the domestic market”, the company added. (Ukrainian metal)
