In January-August Sakhalin region mined 8.5 million tons of coal, up by 19.7% YoY.
This year the region plans to have extracted 11.4 million tons of coal.
96.5%, or 8.2 million tons of coal mined was exported to the Asian Pacific region countries, including 3.5 million tons to China, 3.4 million tons to the South Korea and 357 thousand tons to Vietnam. (Ukrainian metal)
