Additional expenses of Interpipe because of the increase of electricity cost amount to some $1 million per month.
The company CEO Fadi Khraibe says de facto there is no electricity market in Ukraine.
“The market presupposes competitive demand and supply. But now there is a system that is trying to get closer to the market. It has a lot of faults, and yet it has to survive. It is an ordinary situation for Ukraine, when they said that there would be market, and yet could not work out everything in full”, he said.
“In the past two months the price of electricity for industrial customers has increased by 20%. This absolutely does not help our competitiveness, as additional expenses amount to around $1 million per month. This is the million we cannot spend on investments or to increase salary to our employees. This is the money taken from us without giving anything in return”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
