The giant leap of electricity tariffs is questioning the further work of Pobuzhye Ferronickel Plant.
In particular, in July the tariff grew from 57 UAH per MW-h to 347 UAH and 312 UAH in August.
“This is a death penalty for us. Electricity accounts for 45% of all our manufacturing expenses. The new tariff will shut us down”, the company CEO Oleg Bespalov said.
The shut down of the plant will result in the worsening of the economical and social situation in the settlement of Pobuzhskoye.
“We do not demand preferential tariffs under any conditions for our enterprise. But we are against an unreasonable 6-fold increase of tariff”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
