Russian steelmaker Severstal sold more than 3,000 polymer-coated rolled metals under the Steel Silk and Steel Velvet brands to the E.U. clients in January-July, the company said in a statement on August 15.
The company did not sell these brands of rolled metals to the E.U. last year, and it had to ensure compliance with technical regulations of the countries and find its own niche at the European market, the company said quoting Timur Yudichev, head of the distribution network of Severstal Russian Steel.
“Sales of premium products for the European construction market are as attractive as sales on the internal market of Russia. Diversification of markets allows us to understand consumer demands in different regions better as we improve technology of production and the quality of rolled metal,” Yudichev said.
