Alexei Mordashov, chairman of the board of directors of Severstal, has ordered the company to distribute 500 million rubles to the employees as compensation for the coronavirus pandemic, Severstal said in a statement on April 6.

It is important to support each employee as they have different problems with transportation, services, purchase of medicines, and other spheres.

“This is why and taking into account additional personal costs, we have decided to pay a 10,000-ruble lump sum in addition to the wage for April to all employees of Severstal, excluding top-100 managers,” Mordashov said as quoted by the company.

Severstal also decided to keep annual indexation of wages, which will raise all wages by 3% in April. Severstal complies with president Vladimir Putin’s decision to prolong off days until the end of April, the company added. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
