In January-March, Kaz Minerals produced 70 thousand tons of copper, up by 4% YoY. This year the output is expected to total 300 thousand tons.
Aktogay produced 36.7 thousand tons of copper, with 130-140 thousand tons to be produced this year.
Sulfide copper manufacture grew by 6% QoQ, to 31 thousand tons, and by 47% YoY. Because of the cold winter manufacture of cathode copper of oxide ore dropped from 6.8 thousand tons in Q4 2018 to 5.7 thousand tons, which was still 8% higher YoY.
Ore mining increased by 30% YoY, to 11 million tons.
Bozshakol GOK yielded 23.8 thousand tons of copper (26.6 thousand tons in Q4 2018). This year the output is planned on the level of 105-115 thousand tons.
Gold manufacture dropped by 17% YoY, to 30 thousand ounces, and silver totaled 169 thousand ounces. This year 130-140 thousand ounces of gold and 700 thousand ounces of silver are expected to be produced.
Ore mining went up by 19%, to 8.9 million tons.
Vostokzvetmet and Bozymchak mined 947 thousand tons of ore, down by 2% QoQ, but on par YoY.
Ore processing volumes dropped from 982 thousand tons to 625 thousand tons.
Zinc concentrate output fell from 11.4 thousand tons in Q4 2018 to 6.2 thousand tons. This year 50 thousand tons of zinc are expected to be produced.
Gold manufacture also decreased – by 11%, to 12.5 thousand ounces.
At the same time Bozymchak increased output from 9.6 thousand ounces to 10.6 thousand ounces.
Silver manufacture fell 2-fold, to 314 thousand ounces from 631 thousand ounces. (Ukrainian metal)
