Severouralsky Bauxite Mine has put into operation the final, third stage of the Cheremukhovskaya-Glubokaya mine.
Investments totaled 460 million rubles. And the overall expenses on the construction of the mine exceeded 7.9 billion rubles.
The depth of the mineshaft is 1.5 km. The design speed of the mine cage is 11.73 meters per second, which is the highest in the world. The cage can descend to the bottom of the shaft in 127 seconds.
The mine is also the deepest in Russia and one of the 5 deepest in the world.
Last year 436.6 thousand tons of bauxites were extracted there. (Ukrainian metal)
