Azovstal is continuing the construction of a pump station to chemically treat water to cool blast furnace No. 3.

The construction of the station started in November 2018.

So far 370 tons of metal structures and 23 water pipelines (13.8 km) with the diameter of 300 to 426 mm have been assembled.

“This is a part of a large-scale reconstruction of the furnace. When the station is commissioned, the blast furnace will be cooled without using seawater, which will make the manufacturing process more environment-friendly”, the company said.

The construction is 85% complete.

The capacity of the new station will be over 6 thousand cubic meters of water per hour. (Ukrainian metal)
