Severstal chairman Alexei Mordashov and Gazprom chairman Alexei Miller have signed a road map to develop large diameter pipes with the K80 strength class.
It is expected that by 2023 Severstal for the first time in Russia will have developed and started manufacturing electric welded steel large diameter pipes and joints of improved strength class for Gazprom.
They will be able to withstand the record high pressure for land pipelines of 150 at.
At present the highest pressure used in land pipelines in Russia is 120 at. (Ukrainian metal)
