The Ural Aluminum Works has commissioned a modernized manufacture.
The decomposition substitutive module will increase alumina output by 130 thousand tons per year, to 900 thousand tons.
Investments in the construction, which began in 2014, totaled some 640 million rubles.
At the same time, the works intends to reach the capacity of 1 million tons of alumina per year.
“With the new module we replace outdated capacities built in 1939-1945. This modern battery is energy efficient and has higher productivity. There is a demand on the local market now. The country needs aluminum”, the company CEO Victor Kozhevnikov said. (Ukrainian metal)
