Ural Aluminum Works has produced the 50-millioth ton of alumina.
Of this amount some 25 million tons of aluminum were produced, enough to construct 60 million bodies of Range Rover or 225 million engines for Lada Vesta.
The UAZ alumina shop was commissioned in August 1939.
“Following the large-scale modernization of 2015-2017, the works can now produce 900 thousand tons of alumina per year and is one of the three largest alumina producers in Russia”, the company CEO Victor Kozhevnikov said. (Ukrainian metal)
