The Ferrous Metals Research Institute named after Bardin has developed a new alloyed steel with bainitic structure for the solid-rolled railroad wheels.
Vyksa Iron and Steel Works and Russian Railroads participated in the development.
The new bainitic steel has demonstrated higher mechanical and exploitation characteristics than its predecessors.
The wheels were produced at Vyksa Iron and Steel Works. (Ukrainian metal)
