Next week Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman intends to host a meeting on the salary debts to state miners and other debts in the industry.
According to him, the problem of the profitless operation of state coal industry is systematic, and the government has to provide 2.5 billion UAH of subsidies for coal miners in the 2019 state budget.
Groysman believes the problem could be solved with the creation of the state enterprise National Coal Company. The decision on the creation was taken last year, but so far the project had not been carried out.
According to the minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik, it is impossible to clear all salary debts at present, even though a decree to provide 1.4 billion UAH has been approved. So far only 113 million UAH of that amount have been paid. (Ukrainian metal)
