Coal reserves of Russia are estimated at 200 billion tons, or 5.5% of the world total.
Magadan region has four major coal territories: Arkagalinskaya, Omsukchanskaya, Omolonskaya and Okhotskaya.
Three companies mine for coal in the region: Kolyma Coal Company LLC, Association of Business Partnership LLC and North-Eastern Coal Company LLC.
Last year Kolyma Coal Company mined 242.8 thousand tons of coal, with 180.5 thousand tons mined as of July 1, 2018.
Association of Business Partnership mined 88.1 thousand tons of coal last year, with 49.4 thousand tons mined as of July 1, 2018.
North-Eastern Coal Company has so far mined 27.4 thousand tons of coal this year. (Ukrainian metal)
