Yellow cake, or ammonium polyuranite, is the end product of enterprises, which mine uranium by ways of in-situ recovery – Dalur and Khiagda. The only drawback of this technique is the high moisture of the product (up to 30%).

Later the yellow cake is processed into the triuranium octoxide with the minimum moisture.

Priargunsky Manufacturing Mining and Chemical Enterprise has started trial processing of the yellow cake produced by Khiagda.

Additional processing will allow decreasing its moisture content to 1.5-2%, which makes it cheaper to transport and easier to process to get higher content uranium. (Ukrainian metal)
