From May 1 Russian companies have stopped shipping coal through Ukraine without any explanation.
According to the market participants, the volume of Russian coal transit through Ukraine has been 1-1.8 million tons per month lately.
The main customers were Turkish, Polish, Romanian, Slovakian, Czech, and Hungarian companies, as well as Asian and African.
“Our operator (Russian Railroads) has not been negotiating shipping since early May. At the same time coal exports to Ukrainian companies continue without problems”, a source in a Russian coal company reported. (Ukrainian metal)
