In April spot trades of imported aluminum in Japan grew on the background of American sanctions against Rusal.
Prior to sanctions Japan has been importing some 30 thousand tons of aluminum billets per month.
In April spot purchases on CIF totaled 15.5 thousand tons as opposed to 4750 tons in March.
Out of this volume 5500 tons were transferred from traders to customers, 1500 tons from traders to traders, 1 thousand tons from manufacturers to traders and 7500 tons through warehouse warrants to LME. (Ukrainian metal)
