The interdepartmental commission will calculate the damage that was caused during the riots on the territory of the goldmine plant Makmalzoloto.
Earlier it was reported that a license for the construction of a gold-processing plant was issued illegally and a criminal case was opened on the fact. The administration added that Chinese investors invited an independent company to calculate the damage, but an interdepartmental commission would submit the final data. Neither the local authorities nor the government can say unequivocally whether compensation will be paid, since the construction permit has been received illegally. The investors themselves say that the cost of equipment alone is $5 million.
Residents of Toguz-Toro district of Jalal-Abad region repeatedly opposed the construction of the plant, believing that the factory would cause damage to the environment. During the riots on April 11 the villagers burned down the unfinished building of the factory and the office of the company GL Makmal Developing. A criminal case was also opened on this fact.
