In May Ukraine intends to produce some 1.8 million tons of pig iron, 1.8 million tons of steel and 1.6 million tons of rolled metal.
According to Ukrmetallurgprom, as of April 10, 19 out of 21 blast furnaces, 7 out of 9 open-hearth furnaces, 12 out of 16 converters, 7 out of 15 arc furnaces and all the 14 continuous casting machines were in operation.
In March Ukraine produced 1.71 million tons of steel, up by 6% MoM, 1.68 million tons of pig iron, up by 3%, and 1.51 million tons of rolled metal, up by 7%.
In Q1 pig iron output grew by 8% YoY, to 5.25 million tons, while that of steel dropped by 3%, to 5.23 million tons, and of rolled metal – by 2%, to 4.59 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
