In late 2017 the prospecting works were completed at the Tuylkusay site in Kostanay region.
Estimated reserves of gold there are 5.3 tons. Rare-earth metals have also been found.
A plant with the capacity of 48 thousand tons of refractories will be constructed in the city of Arkalyk. The cost of the project is 0.9 billion tenge. Some 64 jobs will be created.
On the other hand the reserves of bauxites, mined by the Turgay Bauxite Mine Group, are running low. And by 2023 the total number of employees will have decreased from 834 to 80. (Ukrainian metal)
