The Ministry of Finances has prepared a draft bill to allow obtaining alluvial gold.
When the bill is passed, the population will be able to freely extract alluvial gold on the riverbanks not owned by any company. But a license from the Ministry of Finances will be required for such an activity. The gold obtained could be freely sold to the state financial organizations at the price set by the ministry.
Industrial gold extracting reaches some 5 tons per year.
In 2016 Tajikistan produced 5.04 tons of gold and 3.2 tons of silver, up by 11% and by 0.6% YoY respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
